Professional Hunting Guide, Larry Lowell  #  704181-04, is offering a California Black Bear Hunt, during the 2010 California Black Bear Season. If you have never hunted Black Bears with Hounds, your in for and exciting action packed hunt. Our Bear Hunts start every morning at first legal hunting time and we stop sometime around 1:00 or until it gets too hot. This hunting schedule has us putting in 8-9 hours of hunting each day, and gives us time to take care of our Hounds to insure they are ready to hunt hard again the next day. Hunting Black Bear with Hounds is very exciting and can be an action packed hunt. Hunting with hounds is far from a lazy mans way of catching game. Hounds will find and start a track off the Truck/Rig or while Roading. They will find then follow that track until they catch up with the Bear. We will follow the dogs with Radio Tracking Equipment. Once the Bear is stopped either on the Ground or in a Tree we will go to the Dogs and Bear. This trek, can be 100 yards, or it could be 5 miles. These hunts are up close and personal, which is why its so exciting. Bears are typically taken at a range between 5-50 yards. Black Bears are very unpredictable, they might jump tree and run more, or they might jump tree and charge at us and the dogs. Some hunts will challenge you as an individual and you'll find out what your made of. If you haven't ever hunted California Black Bears behind Good hounds you will have a GREAT experience hunting with us.

Our Black Bear Hunting Packages are based on a per hunter bases, and vary in price depending on what the individual hunter is looking for in his hunt. We offer two options:

Our first option is a 5 day where the hunter is involved in every aspect of the hunt, from hunting, to harvesting, to retrieving the game and dogs out of the woods, to helping to field dress, skin, and quartering, etc. With this hunt you take care of you own Lodging or Camping with us in Bear Camp. You supply your own food, gear, gun, hunting license, and tags, etc... The rate for option 1 is $1500 per hunter.

Our second option is also for a 5 day hunt. This is a Fully Guided Hunt, where we supply Lodging, in either a Tent or 5th wheel, Food, and Drinks ( If you drink alcohol its bring your own). Helping after harvesting your bear is your choice. The rate for option 2 is $2500 per hunter.

Note: All hunters are required to bring their hunting license, tags, guns and ammo. (We recommend you shoot without a scope)
